Terms of use
The plain-language agreement between you and Scarab. Short, because our promises are simple.
1 · What Scarab is — and isn't
Scarab provides situational awareness: current, city-level reads and short briefs to inform your own travel judgment. It is not official advice, not a guarantee, and not an emergency service. Conditions can change faster than any product can read them. Always weigh Scarab alongside your government's travel advisories and the instructions of local authorities — and in an emergency, follow local official guidance, not an app.
2 · Your part
Use Scarab for personal, non-commercial travel awareness. Don't scrape, resell, or redistribute scores; don't reverse-engineer the service; don't present Scarab's output as official government guidance or as your own. If you want Scarab inside your product or organization, we'd like that too — email us about API and team access instead.
3 · Purchases
All purchases run through Apple and your App Store account.
- Trip Pass — runs for its stated period, then simply ends. It never auto-renews; there is no quiet siphon.
- Annual — renews each year unless you cancel, which you can do anytime in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Annual plans carry a generous fair-use cap, stated at purchase, to keep the plan personal.
- Refunds — handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong on our side, email us and we'll help.
4 · Honest limits
Scarab is provided "as is." We work hard to be current, honest, and right — the method is built around admitting what we can't verify — but no information service can be complete or error-free, and we can't accept liability for decisions made, or not made, on the basis of a read or brief. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to what you paid for the service in the past twelve months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
5 · The service over time
We may add cities, refine the method (versioned, visibly), and change prices for future purchases — never retroactively for time you've already paid. If we ever discontinue the service, active paid periods will be honored or refunded.
6 · Housekeeping
These terms, plus the privacy policy, are the whole agreement. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest stand. Material changes to these terms will be dated below and called out in the app.
